CUSTOMER REVIEWS:
This is an amazing kit and value. I installed it by myself with some basic hand tools over the course of 2 afternoons. These coilovers instill amazing confidence both on and off road. It has also always aligned correctly. I have recommended this kit to several people and I know I have converted several from Spacer lifts and other lifted spring lifts. Each of them and myself feel confidently that this is the only decision for a daily driven lifted subaru. With this kit I was able to cram 32 inch tires on my 2015 Outback.
I got my gr light coilovers just around 6 months ago and I will say after getting them dialed in ,the response is everything I wanted and hoped for especially for the price they rock and driving is always a joy!! They game me the lift I needed for the larger rim size I went up to. Clearance has not been an issue!
I'd been looking for a moderate lift (around 2") for my 2018 Outback, but after a few road trips with a rooftop tent and 2 mountain bikes on a hitch-mount bike rack, I realized that I really needed a suspension upgrade, not just a spacer lift. The Flatout GR Lites perfectly fit that need for me. Flatout recommended 300F/325R spring rates based on my intended use, and the ability to customize lift height and rebound rate is a huge plus. Other coilover upgrades had no option for custom spring rates and/or adjustable ride height. I'm sitting at 2.5" over stock height, front and rear, and fitted 245/65R17 Toyo ATIII tires on 17x7.5 wheels. No tire rub, no driveline vibrations and the shop was able to bring the alignment back to spec without any problem. Ride quality on-road is great. A bit firmer than stock, but much less body roll around corners. Still very comfortable on the highway with no wandering or twitchiness.
Shipment arrived in the expected time, and there was no damage seen. Installation by myself was easy with hand tools in about a day and a half, I just took my time and triple-checked all bolts. Biggest issue was determining the initial ride height, and how much to adjust the coilovers to get the desired lift.
I'm really happy with these GR Lites and would heartily recommend Flatout to anyone looking for a suspension upgrade to meet their needs for camping, soft-roading or hauling heavier loads. Plus, my neighbors keep complimenting me on the looks of my Outback!
I had a problem with my Outback....the OEM suspension was far too soft and squishy for my needs. Load up for a weekend and the ride became awful and the car sagged and rode like a boat down the highway. Hook up a trailer and the back end would bounce like a pogo stick over bumps. I decided to upgrade my suspension and after much research I stumbled across Flatout. Let me say that this company truly cares about the customer. They answered all of my 100 questions. They went above and beyond in my opinion. I recieved my order within about a month and I'm in Canada. There was some minor cosmetic damage on one top plate (scratches) but no big deal. This really is a bolt on solution. When you open the box you'll be blown away by the build quality. The ride is where these truly shine though. I went with 225lb F and 250lb rear. It handles loads with ease, corners like a sports car yet is forgiving enough to make long rides comfortable and relaxing. Even my wife, who doesn't care about cars whatsoever, was impressed with the ride improvement. I can't recommend Flatout suspension enough!
It took a massive amount of patience for me to wait for the right lift coilovers to hit the market for my 2020 Subaru Outback Onyx XT. I didn’t want to go the easy route with just a spacer lift like most Subarus will do. I wanted a real suspension lift with better suspension travel. I finally found these coils after 2 major companies delayed their release for my vehicle, and man am I glad I went with these! Fantastic quality, perform really well, and handle off and on road better than my stock Subaru suspension! PS: If you have a shoo install them, make sure they have done coilovers before and that they work on Subarus on a regular basis, not Jeep’s or Yotas
