Warranty Terms

Flatout Suspension Three Year Limited Warranty

1. Limited Warranty Coverage

Flatout Suspension LLC ("Flatout Suspension") warrants to the original retail purchaser ("Purchaser") that suspension products manufactured and or sold by Flatout Suspension ("Product") shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use. Flatout Suspension further warrants that the Product will substantially conform to the specifications provided in the applicable product documentation.

This Limited Warranty applies for the lesser of:

  • Thirty six (36) months from the date of installation, or

  • Twelve thousand (12,000) miles of use,

whichever occurs first ("Warranty Period").

This Limited Warranty is non transferable and applies only to the original Purchaser.

2. Conditions and Exclusions

This Limited Warranty shall be void if any of the following occur:

  • Improper installation, improper setup, or failure to follow provided instructions

  • Use beyond the designed or rated capacity

  • Use for racing, competition, or other high performance activities

  • Misuse, abuse, neglect, or accident

  • Modification, alteration, or repair not authorized in writing by Flatout Suspension

  • Use of parts not approved in writing by Flatout Suspension

  • Removal, defacing, or alteration of serial numbers or identification markings

  • Damage caused by external factors including environment, road hazards, or collision

This Limited Warranty covers only the internal mechanical function of the shock absorber and related suspension components. Cosmetic appearance, finish wear, surface oxidation, discoloration, corrosion, rust, plating deterioration, or other environmental cosmetic damage are expressly excluded from warranty coverage.

No warranty coverage is provided for race, competition, or high performance use due to the inherent nature and stress of such activities.

3. Setup Verification and Installation Requirements

Proper installation and setup are a non-negotiable condition of this Limited Warranty.

All Products must be installed and set up in accordance with the instructions, specifications, and guidelines provided by Flatout Suspension, including but not limited to spring selection, spring placement, preload setting, ride height adjustment, clearance verification, and damper configuration.

At the time of installation, the Purchaser or installer must document and retain accurate setup information, including, at minimum:

  • Spring specifications and placement (front and rear)
  • Preload measurements
  • Final ride height measurements
  • Spring length under load or sag verification
  • Damper settings (clicks from full soft)
  • Installer name and installation date

Flatout Suspension may require this information to evaluate any warranty claim. Failure to provide sufficient setup documentation upon request may result in denial of warranty coverage, as proper installation and setup cannot be verified.

Installation by a Flatout Suspension authorized installer is not required; however, the burden of proof that the Product was properly installed and set up in accordance with Flatout Suspension guidelines rests solely with the Purchaser.

Flatout Suspension is not responsible for issues arising from improper installation, incorrect setup, or failure to follow provided instructions. Conditions such as noise, poor ride quality, improper ride height, premature wear, or component interference are commonly the result of incorrect installation or setup and are not indicative of a defect in materials or workmanship.

Warranty claims may be denied where, in the sole and reasonable determination of Flatout Suspension, the reported issue is attributable to improper installation, incorrect setup, or lack of verifiable setup data.

4. Warranty Claim Procedure

The Purchaser must submit a warranty claim through the Flatout Suspension website under the designated warranty section.

Notice of any alleged defect must be provided:

  • Within the Warranty Period, and

  • Within thirty (30) days of discovering the defect or issue.

  • If you can not send the part in for replacement, we will provide a replacement with a core charge that is refunded if the defective part is returned within 30 days of the replacement.

Flatout Suspension may require photographs, measurements, installation details, and other diagnostic information.

If a Product is approved for return, the Purchaser must properly package and insure the shipment. Flatout Suspension assumes no risk of loss or damage in transit.

Authorized Dealer Purchases

For Products purchased through an authorized Flatout Suspension dealer, all warranty claims must be initiated and processed through the original selling dealer. Flatout Suspension will work directly with the authorized dealer to evaluate and resolve the claim. Claims submitted directly by the Purchaser for Products purchased through an authorized dealer may be redirected or denied unless prior written authorization is provided by Flatout Suspension.

5. Remedies

If a defect covered by this Limited Warranty is confirmed, Flatout Suspension shall, at its sole discretion:

  • Repair the defective Product, or

  • Provide a repaired or replacement Product.

Replacement parts may be new or refurbished.

Flatout Suspension shall not be responsible for labor costs, removal, installation, shipping, transportation, downtime, or any related expenses.

The remedies provided herein are the exclusive remedies. Flatout Suspension's total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the Product.

6. Disclaimer of Other Warranties

Except as expressly stated, Flatout Suspension disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, so these limitations may not apply to certain Purchasers.

7. Limitation of Liability

Flatout Suspension shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of income, or loss of profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply in all cases.

8. Governing Law

This Limited Warranty shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of law principles.

9. Warranty Registration Requirement

Warranty coverage is valid only if the Product is registered within ninety (90) days of receipt by the Purchaser.

Proper installation and setup are critical to the performance, reliability, and longevity of our suspension systems. While we maintain a small network of trusted, authorized installers who are familiar with our products and setup procedures, not every repair facility has the equipment, experience, or technical understanding required to properly install and tune performance suspension. The fact that a shop or mechanic has been in business for decades does not guarantee familiarity with modern adjustable coilovers or the precision required for correct preload, ride height, clearance verification, torque procedures, and damping configuration. Performance suspension is a specialized component that demands attention to detail and adherence to setup guidelines.

Our suspension systems are only as effective as the quality of their installation and setup. The majority of post-installation concerns reported to us are ultimately traced back to installation error, improper adjustment, or failure to follow recommended procedures rather than a defect in the product itself. Incorrect preload, improper torque, misaligned components, unverified clearances, or inaccurate height adjustments can result in noise, premature wear, poor ride quality, or reduced performance. For this reason, we strongly recommend professional installation by an experienced performance suspension specialist or one of our authorized installers. Installation errors or improper setup may affect warranty eligibility.
