Flatout Suspension GR-PRO – 2014-2024 Lamborghini Huracán "DIY Sterrato" 3-Way Long-Travel Coilovers

Want Sterrato capability without buying a Sterrato? The Flatout Suspension GR-PRO for the 2014-2024 Lamborghini Huracán takes our "DIY Sterrato" concept to its highest level, combining long-travel suspension geometry with fully adjustable 3-way damping.

Developed as the suspension foundation for a serious "DIY Sterrato" build, the GR-PRO combines increased ride height, increased suspension travel, external reservoirs, off-road-focused spring rates, and independent high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and rebound adjustment.

The factory Huracán Sterrato sits approximately 44 mm / 1.73 inches higher than the Huracán EVO 4WD while providing 25% more front wheel travel and 35% more rear wheel travel. The GR-PRO follows that same philosophy, giving standard Huracán owners the increased ride height and suspension movement needed to build their own Sterrato-inspired Huracán, with significantly greater control over how the suspension behaves.

Build Your Own Sterrato

This isn't a conventional Huracán coilover with the ride height simply cranked upward. The GR-PRO uses extended-length, long-travel dampers designed around the increased ride height and suspension range of the factory Sterrato.

The goal is to increase ground clearance while giving the suspension the additional movement it needs to actually work on rough surfaces. Instead of sacrificing suspension travel to gain height, the GR-PRO increases the working range of the suspension along with the ride height.

  • Up to 44 mm / 1.73" Increased Ride Height → Designed around the increased ground clearance of the factory Huracán Sterrato.

  • 25% Increased Front Wheel Travel → Additional suspension movement provides greater compliance over gravel, broken pavement, dips, and uneven terrain.

  • 35% Increased Rear Wheel Travel → Increased rear suspension movement helps maintain tire contact and stability across rough and loose surfaces.

  • 10-Inch Coil Springs → Longer springs provide the working range required for the increased ride height and long-travel damper design.

3-Way Adjustable Damping

The defining feature of the GR-PRO is its independent high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and rebound adjustment. Instead of a single adjustment controlling multiple aspects of damper behavior, the GR-PRO allows each to be tuned independently.

Low-speed compression primarily controls chassis movement during events such as braking, acceleration, cornering, and gradual weight transfer. Increasing low-speed compression can add platform control without necessarily making the suspension excessively harsh over sharp impacts.

High-speed compression controls damper response during rapid shaft movement caused by potholes, washboard, rocks, abrupt surface changes, and larger impacts. This allows impact control to be adjusted independently from the settings used to manage body movement.

Rebound adjustment controls how quickly the suspension extends after compression, allowing the suspension to be tuned for different spring rates, terrain, speeds, and levels of grip.

For a Huracán being driven on both pavement and loose terrain, that separation is particularly valuable. The chassis can remain controlled at speed while still allowing the suspension to absorb abrupt impacts and maintain tire contact over rough surfaces.

Off-Road Focused Spring Rates

A lifted Huracán needs a very different suspension philosophy than one being lowered for street or track use. Excessive spring rate reduces compliance and mechanical grip on loose and uneven surfaces, exactly where a long-travel suspension needs to work.

Our standard Huracán GR-PRO configuration uses 450 lb/in front and 600 lb/in rear 10-inch springs. The staggered spring rates complement the Huracán's rear-biased weight distribution while providing the support required for the increased ride height and available suspension travel.

The 450F / 600R combination is intentionally selected to balance body control with off-road compliance. Rather than relying on excessively stiff springs to control large impacts, the GR-PRO allows the dampers, increased suspension travel, and 3-way adjustable valving to do the work.

The result is better mechanical grip and a suspension capable of absorbing broken pavement, gravel, washboard, and desert terrain while still providing the chassis control expected from a Huracán.

External Reservoirs & 3-Way Control

The GR-PRO uses external reservoirs on all four dampers, increasing oil and gas volume for improved thermal management during prolonged high-speed use.

The reservoirs also house the GR-PRO's independent high-speed and low-speed compression adjusters, while rebound adjustment provides the third axis of damper tuning.

This gives the driver the ability to develop different setups for pavement, gravel, desert roads, or mixed-surface driving without changing springs or mechanically altering the suspension.

Key Features of the Huracán GR-PRO

  • 3-Way Adjustable Damping → Independently adjustable high-speed compression, low-speed compression, and rebound.

  • DIY Sterrato Configuration → Purpose-built long-travel suspension package for transforming the standard Huracán into a Sterrato-inspired all-surface build.

  • Up to 44 mm / 1.73" Increased Ride Height → Increased ground clearance based around the factory Sterrato ride-height increase.

  • 25% Increased Front Wheel Travel → Additional front suspension movement for improved compliance across rough terrain.

  • 35% Increased Rear Wheel Travel → Additional rear suspension movement helps maintain traction and stability over uneven surfaces.

  • External Reservoirs on All Four Shocks → Increased oil and gas volume for improved heat management and consistent damping during sustained high-speed use.

  • 450F / 600R Spring Rates → Off-road-focused spring rates selected to balance support, mechanical grip, suspension travel, and compliance.

  • 10-Inch Coil Springs → Longer springs complement the extended-travel damper design.

  • Inverted Shock Design → Increased rigidity and strength for harsh impacts and demanding terrain.

  • Bypass Piston Valving → Compliance over smaller surface irregularities with increased control during larger suspension events.

  • Rebuildable Construction → Fully serviceable and tunable for long-term performance use.

  • Electroplated Shock Bodies → Durable corrosion-resistant finish designed for long-term service in demanding environments.

Why 3-Way Adjustment Matters Off-Road

On smooth pavement, controlling body movement and maintaining precise chassis response are usually the priority. On rough terrain, the suspension also needs to absorb sudden impacts without upsetting the vehicle or causing the tires to skip across the surface.

A single damper adjustment inevitably involves compromise. The GR-PRO's 3-way architecture allows those demands to be addressed separately.

  • Low-Speed Compression → Tune body roll, pitch, braking dive, acceleration squat, and general chassis support.

  • High-Speed Compression → Tune response to potholes, rocks, washboard, sharp edges, and sudden high-energy impacts.

  • Rebound → Control suspension extension and how quickly the tire follows the terrain after compression.

This allows the Huracán to maintain the controlled, connected feel expected from a supercar while giving the suspension enough freedom to work when the surface becomes considerably less civilized.

Who Is the Huracán GR-PRO For?

  • Serious DIY Sterrato Builds → Huracán owners who want the long-travel concept with substantially more damper tuning capability.

  • Safari Builds → Cars being built with increased ride height, all-terrain tires, underbody protection, rally lighting, or other all-surface modifications.

  • High-Speed Desert & Gravel Driving → Applications where heat capacity, impact control, and the ability to independently tune compression behavior become increasingly important.

  • Mixed-Surface Builds → Huracáns that need to remain composed on pavement while also being properly set up for gravel, rough roads, and off-pavement use.

  • Drivers Who Want Maximum Adjustability → Owners who want the ability to tune chassis control and impact response independently instead of accepting a single compromise setting.

Why Long Travel Matters

Simply lifting a vehicle doesn't automatically make it more capable. Increasing ride height without increasing available suspension movement can reduce droop travel, compromise ride quality, and leave the tires with less ability to follow uneven terrain.

The GR-PRO takes a different approach. Ride height and suspension travel are increased together. This gives the Huracán additional ground clearance while preserving the suspension movement necessary to maintain tire contact over dips, crests, washboard, and uneven surfaces.

That additional travel is what separates a functional Sterrato-style suspension from a Huracán that has simply been made taller.

From Supercar to DIY Sterrato

The Huracán already provides an incredible platform for an all-surface build. The Sterrato demonstrated what happens when that platform is given additional ground clearance, suspension travel, and a suspension designed to work beyond smooth pavement.

The Flatout GR-PRO takes that philosophy a step further by adding professional-level 3-way damper control to the long-travel platform.

Whether you're building a complete Sterrato-inspired Huracán with all-terrain tires, skid protection, and rally lighting or creating a high-speed mixed-surface build that needs significantly more tuning capability, the GR-PRO provides the suspension foundation to make it happen.

More clearance. More travel. More control. More places to use your Huracán.
