Understanding the Flatout Suspension Lineup

We receive a lot of questions about the different suspension models we offer. While we have a detailed tech article that dives deep into the GR series, here’s a clear overview of each model and what makes it unique:


Flatout TR – Trail Runner

Our newest addition to the lineup, the Trail Runner is designed for drivers who want a lift without going to a fully adjustable coilover system.

  • Retains OEM ride quality and comfort

  • Uses OEM-spec springs and top mounts for a stealthy, factory-like appearance

  • Compatible with any OEM-style spring and allows the addition of strut spacers for extra height

  • Unique feature: adjustable compression damping — something most competitors don’t offer.

Ideal for: daily drivers who want a mild lift and stock-like refinement.


Flatout SR – Street Ready

The SR is our entry-level street suspension, designed to be simple, comfortable, and clean.

  • Perfect for lowering daily drivers

  • Offers three spring color options and two valving styles for personalization

  • Shares the same foundation as GR Lite but optimized for on-road performance with street valving and lower travel.

Ideal for: daily drivers who want a clean, lowered look with a comfortable ride.


Flatout CS – Club Sport

Track-ready yet very streetable, the CS adds performance features for spirited driving.

  • Inverted shocks, external reservoirs, and digressive valving

  • Shares core components with GR40, but optimized for street and track use through unique travel, valving, and spring rates.

Ideal for: drivers who track their cars or want a sharper, more performance-focused setup.


Flatout CS PRO

For those who want full motorsport capability, the CS PRO turns the CS platform up to 11.

  • 3-way shock damping control: low-speed compression, high-speed compression, and rebound.

  • True race-grade performance.

Ideal for: competitive drivers and serious track enthusiasts.


Flatout GR Lite – Entry-Level Off-Road

Our most approachable off-road coilover.

  • Provides up to 2 inches of lift, adjustable to around 3 inches depending on application

  • Proprietary off-road valving paired with low-rate springs for excellent ride comfort

  • Designed to maintain OEM ride quality while adding clearance.

Ideal for: daily drivers who want lift and capability without sacrificing comfort.


Flatout GR Plus – The All-Rounder

Our best-selling suspension system.

  • Everything you love about GR Lite, but with inverted front shocks for added strength and endurance

  • Balanced valving and spring rates to retain OEM-like ride comfort.

Ideal for: adventurers who spend time both on and off the road.


Flatout GR40 – Rally-Inspired

Takes the GR Plus platform to the next level.

  • Adds external rear reservoirs (or inverted rears depending on application)

  • Allows increased compression travel and improved damping control.

Ideal for: off-road enthusiasts, rallycross competitors, and those who want to push their suspension harder.


Flatout GR40R – Full Reservoir Upgrade

  • Identical to GR40, but adds external reservoirs to the front shocks as well.

Ideal for: drivers who want reservoir shocks at all four corners for maximum performance.


Flatout GR40 PRO – 3-Way Rally Suspension

  • Builds on the GR40R with 3-way adjustability (low-speed compression, high-speed compression, and rebound).

Ideal for: competitive rallycross and performance off-road driving.


Flatout GR50 – Heavy-Duty Stage Rally

  • Based on the GR40, but upgraded with 50mm shock inserts and 62mm threaded bodies (vs. 40mm / 52mm on GR40).

  • Designed for serious off-road and rally abuse.

Ideal for: drivers who need maximum strength and travel.


Flatout GR50R – Full Reservoir Rally

  • Adds reservoirs to all four shocks using the larger 50/62 setup from GR50.

Ideal for: heavy off-road users and competitive rally drivers.


Flatout GR50 PRO – Top of the Line

  • Combines the GR50R hardware with 3-way reservoir adjustability.

  • This is our most advanced suspension, designed for stage rally and serious motorsport use.

We don’t list every variant of every suspension on our website. If we make a suspension for your vehicle, there’s a good chance we can build a custom configuration to meet your exact needs.
